The towel is often the bulkiest part of a small wash bag. Sea to Summit takes a different approach with the Sea to Summit Pocket Towel, a compact microfiber option intended to fit into much less space.
The manufacturer describes recycled polyester DRY+ fabric and a silky feel. That points to a travel towel rather than the thick terry-cloth towel you might leave hanging at home. I would consider it for the space it frees up, while accepting that the texture will feel different.
A Towel You’re More Likely to Pack
- Technical microfiber: Designed around absorbency and quick drying.
- Soft zippered EVA case: Keeps the packed towel together.
- Machine washable: Sea to Summit recommends washing it separately first.
The case is useful when a small towel would otherwise disappear among loose toiletries. I would still take the towel out to dry before closing it away for long periods. A compact package doesn't remove the need to deal with moisture after use.
Choose the Size Around the Job
For wiping your face or drying hands, a small travel towel can be plenty. Drying after a shower is a different job. Check the dimensions of the selected size rather than assume that every Pocket Towel is a comfortable bath-towel replacement.
Sea to Summit describes the fabric as absorbing three times its weight in water. That is a manufacturer claim about the fabric, not a promise that a very small towel can dry an unlimited amount. Actual surface area still affects how convenient it feels.
Where I’d Put It
A day bag, gym kit, or compact camping wash kit is a natural home for this design. Someone who wants a thick, plush towel for a long stay may prefer a larger conventional one.
My reason to buy the Pocket Towel would be simple: it is easier to bring a useful towel when the packed size stops being a nuisance. Pick enough surface area for your routine and leave room to hang it afterward.
