A loose emergency blanket can be awkward to keep wrapped around your feet. The Esky Emergency Sleeping Bag, Survival Bag Portable Thermal Bivy Sack, Waterproof Lightweight Emergency Blanket Survival Gear with Compass for Camping Hiking Outdoor Adventure uses a bivy-shaped cover instead, giving you a more contained backup layer when an outing runs longer than planned.

The included compass is an extra, but it wouldn't be my reason for choosing a sleep-related item. I'd start with the bag itself: its size, how you enter it, and how easily it fits back into your kit.

Features to Compare

Thermal bivy shape that surrounds more of the body than a loose sheet.
Portable emergency format for keeping a backup in a bag.
Compass included according to the listing title.

The waterproof description deserves a closer read before purchase. Find out how the opening works and what the manufacturer says about moisture management. A cover can shed outside water while still becoming damp inside from the person using it.

Think of It as One Layer

I'd pair this sort of bivy with the clothing and ground protection appropriate to the trip. It doesn't create padding between your body and a hard surface. It also shouldn't be assigned the same role as a properly selected sleeping bag simply because both have a bag shape.

For a short unexpected stop, containing a reflective cover around your lower body may be convenient. For planned nights out, a more comfortable sleep system is usually easier to live with, especially if you need room to move or manage damp gear.

Don't Let the Compass Decide

Check the compass separately and learn its limitations before relying on it. A small bundled accessory doesn't replace knowing your route, having an appropriate map, and being familiar with a dependable direction tool.

The Esky makes the most sense to me as a compact reserve item. I'd choose it for the enclosed emergency-cover format, then verify the exact fit and packing arrangement. For regular camping, I'd spend more attention on insulation, shelter, and sleeping comfort than on the bundled extra.
